Story

Hi

I AM TURNING 70 this year, while I am walking the Camino Ingles (the English Camino), 120 kms from Ferrol on the north coast of Spain, to Santiago de Compostela.

This is not the first Camino I have walked -  I did 250 kms on the Camino Portugues, from Porto, in early 2013 - but it feels like I was much younger then!

I initially did that Camino to honour my husband David who had also wanted to walk a Camino. Sadly he died, at 60, at the end of 2009 from pancreatic cancer - as indeed my father had died, at 50, way back in the sixties, when I was but a teenager. So research into pancreatic cancer, causes and treatments, are very important to me.

I don’t think this Camino will be easy for me, but I want to remember my husband again by raising awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research. I would be most grateful if you could join me in sponsoring me and supporting the GI Cancer Institute.

Many thanks for your support!

Jane
